Our strategic assets are as safe as that of any other nuclear weapon state. STORYLINE
The Pakistan government says opposition leader Benazir Bhutto will not be allowed to hold a procession from Lahore to Islamabad, as the political crisis in the country deepens.
Earlier Bhutto visited the tomb of Pakistan's national poet Allama Iqbal in Lahore, where she offered prayers at his tomb.
But it appeared that the authorities are unlikely to let the march go ahead unimpeded.
