To facilitate the rail works of the new East Coast integrated Depot, there would be no train services between Tanah Merah and Tampines from 7 December to 10 December 2024. As a result, commuters have to make alternative travel options such as taking the downtown line, circle line or shuttle 7 buses which takes them to Simei station. There are shuttle trains plying the affected stations such as shuttle trains on CGL. One will run between Tanah Merah and Expo while for those travelling to Changi Airport will have to cross over to the opposite platform at Expo station as this. Moreover, there are shuttle trains plying between Tampines and Pasir Ris. However, if commuters are travelling to Simei, they have to take shuttle 7. As for the Eastbound services from Tuas Link or Joo Koon, train services will end at Tanah Merah instead of the usual Pasir Ris station
