Zimbabwe's government appears to be loosening its grip on the diamond trade. A new gazette is making provisions for private companies to cut, polish and even sell diamonds internationally.
While the gazette brings an end to the state monopoly on diamond sales, industry watchdogs say more transparency is needed in the country's diamond trade.
