The city plan of Giannitsa in 1932 suggested a strict geometrical orientation, widening and aligning Venizelos Street as the main artery of the town. In the post-war decades, mainly in the 1970s, the area of intervention became the core of the local reconstruction area, at which time four-storey buildings were built. Free space began to narrow and by the mid-1980s, a large section of Venizelos Street and the streets that are perpendicular to it, created a pedestrian area. This area became a great place for residents, pedestrians and consumers and evolved into the area of the town where everything takes place. It is a populated area while professional office services such as accounting, law firms, medical offices and tutorials develop. In addition, there are shops that serve both the general consumer of the town and the permanent resident. Much of the proposed area has dining and entertainment venues, such as taverns, cafes, bars and take away shops making up the core of social life. At the same time, periodic events are hosted, such as the Christmas village called "Paramythoupoli", the May Flower Exhibition, open air concerts and sports events. The location defines the end of the big sport event of the town, the “Pella Half Marathon”, which takes place annually in autumn, as a tribute to the executed citizens by the German occupation army in September 1944.
