This video demonstrates the process of washing and drying a new AegisMax M2 Down Sleeping bag with NikWax Down Wash Direct. The down has lofted up considerably compared to the situation before.

It took hours to properly dry it out and to separate and dry the down clumps. I’d recommend washing the bag but be prepared for a lot of time to be spent baby sitting it and drying it. Plus it makes your house smell like a wet dog for a few hours.

I haven’t taken the bag out anywhere yet, so don’t know how effective it will be. I’m pretty confident though - especially after the wash. I’m hoping it’s really warm. I have a sleeping bag line on the way AND I’ve bought one of the popular Costco Double-Black Diamond down quilts as a backup.
