This is my favourite method for creating masks like these, and I’ve done much larger versions using exactly the same process. Folding over the cardboard creates a really authentic shape and it isn’t too tricky for children to do. You can obviously add on other materials to create different textures, I often use corrugated card, but I’ve kept it simple here and just glued on some paper straws to make the raised stripes. A good quality gold paint helps too.
