The devastating Padma River in Bangladesh swallowed the newly constructed three-storey Omar Ali High School cum Cyclone Shelter in Rajrajeshwar Union, Chandpur. The building was washed away by the strong current of the catastrophic Padma river. In the same way, hundreds of houses and mosques are being destroyed due to the terrible erosion of the river. Many villages, hats and crop lands are under threat due to river erosion. People affected by river erosion have to leave their furniture, houses and even cattle to save their lives.
