Two Week New Zealand South Island Road Trip Itinerary - part one

Day One:
Fly into Christchurch
Rent a car at the airport
- we rented with Europcar
Stay in Christchurch (Sumner)
- Beach Front Inn: [ Ссылка ]
- Right on the beach, had surf boards for use, private gym, outdoor patio
- Great restaurants and cafes near by - "Beach Sumner" (restaurant right on the beach)
- Cool caves and beautiful pathways to walk

Day Two:
Drive to Lake Tekapo - 3 hours
- Church of the good Shepheard
- Coffee/ lunch at Jack Rabbit
Drive to Lake Pukaki on way to Mount Cook - 1.15 hours
- Lots of view points along the side of the road
- Beautiful lake to go for a swim in the summer
Mount Cook
- Famous spot in the road: [ Ссылка ]

- Book their unlimited breakfast, it’s worth it!
Kea Point Hike - 3kms out and back
Tasman Glacier - 1.5kms out and back (lots of steps)

Day Three:
Hooker Valley Track - 10 km
Drive to Queenstown - 3 hours
- We stopped in Omarama overnight (halfway between Mount Cook and Queenstown to break up the drive and was cheaper accommodation)

Day Four:
Queenstown
- walk around downtown/ by the lake
- Ferbburger (worth the hype)
Nzone Skydiving: [ Ссылка ]
Drive to Te Anau – 2 hours
- Beautiful drive with lots of pit stops along the way
- Lake Front Lodge: [ Ссылка ]

Day Five:
Milford Sound Tour (full day tour): [ Ссылка ]
Stay additional night in Te Anau

Day Six:
Drive back to Queenstown – 2 hours
Shotover River Jetboat Ride: [ Ссылка ]
Drive to Wanaka through Lindis Pass – 1 hour
- Beautiful drive with lots of stops
Wanaka
- Wanaka tree
- Lots of resturants, places to eat and paths to walk

Day Seven:
Roys Peak Hike – 16 km (do at sunrise if you can!!!)
Drive to Franz Joseph – 4 hours
- Lots of stops along the drive:
- Fantail Falls
- Thunder Creek Falls
- Ship Creek Walks
- Kings Point Lookout and more
