Brazil has a deep affection for IBE, and the feeling is mutual. For years, Brazilian dancers have attended the festival to share their passion for music, dance, and hip-hop culture. In 2018, Pelezinho, Tyrone (IBE), and BBoy Lilou created the Havaianas Battle, also known as Batalha de Chinelo. This unique battle concept requires Breakers to compete in flip-flops. It’s a challenging feat, often resulting in flip-flops flying through the air, much to the audience’s delight. This distinctive element of Brazilian culture has become one of the festival’s highlights.
