St Thomas’ is situated in one of the more underserved areas of Blackburn with little uptake of sport. The school previously had no experience of cricket. Following the Chance to Shine programme, pupils began to show a real interest in the game. 120 pupils were involved with the Chance to Shine programme with 20 Year 6 pupils also being involved with leadership training. supporting each other and taking part with a smile on their face to complete the programme. The teachers continued to deliver cricket after their sessions and 15 children have joined their local Street project.
