With our Christmas decorations up, it's time to bake some sugar cookies!

SUGAR COOKIE RECIPE:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter (room temperature works best)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons vanilla
Optional: 1 teaspoon almond extract

1) Cream butter, then gradually add sugar. Add egg, milk, and vanilla (and almond extract).
2) Mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and salt (1/2 cup flour added at the end).
3) Add dry ingredients. Once mixed, slowly add remaining flour.
4) Refrigerate for at least 1 hour
5) Bake for 7-10 minutes @ 375F

ICING RECIPE:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 tablespoon milk
Food coloring of choice

1) Stir until all powdered sugar is dissolved, adding extra corn syrup if necessary
