After a political crisis lasting nearly two months, Adama Barrow, the president-elect of Gambia, is back home and ready to get to work. His predecessor, Yahya Jammeh, only agreed to cede power when he was threatened with a military intervention by regional bloc ECOWAS. President Barrow now has to put in place a government and tackle several pressing issues. But it will take time to heal the wounds left by 22 years of dictatorship. Our team on the ground reports on the immense challenges ahead.
A programme prepared by Patrick Lovett and Laura Burloux.
