When the snow starts falling, snow removal practices reveal what transportation priorities are in our towns. Safe, comfortable, and convenient active transportation infrastructure is needed first and foremost. Secondly, the infrastructure must be maintained and cleared of snow in the winter to ensure travel reliability for those who use it. In this video I share a few examples how the lack of winter maintenance of sidewalks and bike paths deter many people from using them and make it difficult for those who continue to use them.
I want to give credit and a big thank you to Sam Bishop and Eva Haroldsen, a couple of great local advocates that were integral in the scripting of this video! I also want to thank Simon Hirst for the great help and advice to improve the audio quality!
