PayPal Bangalore moved to a new office spread across two and a half floors in July 2018 housing close to 800 people.
The employees got together to celebrate this milestone with great fervor. A 45 foot PayPal logo was unveiled while employees danced to the vibrant tunes of the Dollu Kunitha, a drum dance local to Karnataka. Guru Bhat, GM and Head of Engineering, inaugurated the second floor followed by a lamp lighting and a treasure hunt and the winner inaugurated the third floor. The afternoon featured the launch of the PayPal Incubator. Employees got together to form a human PayPal logo and a concert by a vibrant local band named Zehen added to festivities.
The 90,000 square-foot space has an open floor plan like all PayPal offices across the globe, collaboration areas, project lounge spaces allowing employees to work, meet and hang out. The collaboration spaces are scattered with plush chairs and couches, for both meetings, white boarding or quick breaks. A private balcony gives employees the opportunity to catch some sun.
As you walk around, you will notice creative names for conference rooms be it popular destinations in Karnataka, superhero lairs, places in the Harry Potter book, popular Bollywood characters or classic movie names. 20 walls featuring various themes have been hand painted by street artists.
The office is swanky with a multi-purpose room which promises to play host to in-house music bands, conduct fitness sessions etc. A recreation area is also available with pool tables, foosball, carom boards, Xbox, mini golf course etc.
