I fished a local creek with my new Badger Tenkara Rock Creek Special. This is their new high flex (5:5) rod. The stream I was on has only wild trout, browns and rainbows. Today I manged to catch only rainbows.
As for my thoughts on this rod, I really like it. It fishes well with light lines in tight situations. The takes of these small rainbows is subtle at times, and the rod transmitted the stikes well (I missed quite a few fish since I was poking around in tight quarters that do not allow for much of a hook set).
There is no perfect rod for all situations, but for small creeks in tight quarters, this rod will work well.
