In this video, we learn how to cook mygGrandmother's mutton Dalcha. A Dalcha is a traditional Indian mutton stew with lentils. This dish goes very well with biryani rice or even with bread.
INGREDIENTS (Serves 8-10)
2 cinnamon sticks
10 cardamom pods
5 star anise
10 cloves
3 tsp cumin
5 small green chillies (spicy)
1 cup lentils (Malawi dhal)
Red onion paste
Ginger garlic paste
2 potatoes
1 carrot
1 aubergine
1/2 radish
2 tomatoes
2 large green chillies (non-spicy)
spring onions
1/2 cup tamarind
2kg mutton bones (joints with bone marrow and fats)
corriander leaves
1 cup thick coconut milk
Turmeric powder
4tbsp red chilli powder
5tbsp meat curry powder
