Heavy rain continued in Kerala’s Thrissur on July 30. The shutters of Peechi, Vazhani, Peringalkuthu, Poomala, Asurankundu and Pathazhakundu dams were opened after the water levels in the dams rose due to heavy rains. Notably, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for heavy rains in Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kasaragod. Meanwhile, 54 people died and several are feared trapped after massive landslides hit Wayanad due to heavy rainfall on July 30.
