Have you ever seen clay color recipes but been confused on how to actually use it? You’re not alone! I used to be confused about this too 🤍
The numbers in the recipe are the ratios of clay you will need. It doesn’t matter what thickness of clay or clay cutter you are using as long as it is consistent for every “ingredient” in the recipe you are mixing. I love that I can use thicker clay and a bigger cutter when mixing up a big batch, or I can use a small cutter when I’m just needed a small amount of that color.
Another thing to note is that different brands of clay will mix differently, so if the recipe is for Sculpey Premo, you might not get the same exact color using Sculpey Soufflé, Fimo, etc.
Let me know what questions you have, and what color recipe you’d like to see next! 🎨
