Stuck in the parking lot because my damn immobilizer isn't recognizing my key. I hate my 01 Jetta VR6 right now.

MOST SUCCESSFUL SOLUTION:
To resolve the problem (Get Home Fix)

(1) put key into ignition
(2) turn key to on position (do not a temp to turn vehicle on)
(3) leave it alone as the vehicle will process the chip with ecu (up to 10mins)
(4) if step 2-3 doesn't work repeatably turning on/off over & over also helps get it going

keep trying to a tempt to start a vehicle when it is going through this stage
it will only put the car into lock down mode and will take longer to recognize the key
