#AltoSaxLesson #AltoSaxTutorial #AltoSaxScales #Saxophone
In this lesson, we learn the notes of the C MAJOR SCALE for the ALTO SAX in the LOWER octave. Here are the note names:
C MAJOR SCALE C - D - E - F - G - A - B - C
**Your band director might refer to this scale as "Concert E-flat". The alto saxophone is a TRANSPOSING instrument, and so when you play a C major scale on alto sax it is ACTUALLY an E-flat major scale on piano**
When you first start to learn a new scale, it is important to go SLOWLY through each note and be sure you are playing it correctly. In this new series of videos, I will demonstrate each scale for you slowly, note-by-note. Each note is shown with a fingering chart. Once you can play the scale at this slow speed, you can practice playing it faster and faster.
