Hello to all, today a test of the "Ravenscroft 275" piano by VI-Lab vs Keyscape by Spectrasonics. I do not do the test to see which of the two pianos has the best sound, because in my opinion it is always just a matter of taste, but the test is based on the range of the dynamics of the two pianos, so not on the sound but on a in fact, the result really leaves me amazed.

I start from the last one played in the video: "Keyscape" by Spectrasonics, which has a sound that I immediately like when I first listen, unfortunately the problems come later. Apart from the fact that the Keyscape the most expensive (approx. 350, - €) piano plugin starts with the first problem, like: it doesn't have the possibility to play with "una corda", yes, but not only, another thing which also does not convince me, that it is possible to play at most only 64 notes of polyphony, and requires the beauty of 80 GB of space (many pianos), while "Ravenscroft 275" 35 GB, (one piano) but in addition it has a fabulous "una corda" also it seems you can play unlimited notes of polophony, and I think that in some passage of the video you can hear it :-) naturally by unlimited notes of polophony you need a powerful processor and lots of ram. However, returning to the dynamic range theme, personally, when I play, I notice that "Ravenscroft 275" has a much wider range of dynamics than Keyscape, and those with good hearing can easily hear it in the video.

The only advantage of Keyscape is that in the package it has many different pianos, as well as a fantastic Rhodes etc. However, I think it is better to have only one complete piano, but done right as it should be, than a half piano, so if not complete better not to call it piano, but call it ........? :-D For Apple Music users:
