The world of Western Swing music will dearly miss the steel guitarist and founder of Texas' own "Time Warp Tophands".... Mr. Tom (Wolf) Morrell. This is a bit of raw camera footage from the recording studio in early 2011, as some of the Time Warp Tophands are preparing to record a song for an upcoming tribute CD, dedicated to the life of Tom Morrell. The CD is expected to be released in the fall of 2012.
It couldn't be much more impromptu and relaxed than in this little video. Western Swing greats Leon Rausch, Rich O'Brien, Craig Chambers, Johnny Case, Greg Hardy and others, gather around the the acoustic guitar in the early stages of an on-the-fly arrangement of a classic song called, "Don't Be Ashamed of Your Age."
