A mini-vacuum engine bought on Amazon. This engine works by sucking in hot gas from the flame and then sealing it while it cools and contracts. The piston gets pushed by the outside atmospheric pressure but you can imagine it as being pulled by the vacuum created by the cooling gas inside the cylinder.
I use basic burning alcohol as fuel for the flame and white oil (sewing machine oil) as a lubricant for the piston. I put the oil directly through the lid. I usually oil the engine before and after use. The excess oil will drop from the lid anyway. All moving parts are lubricated using the same oil as the one used for the piston.
