Costa Concordia captain Francesco Schettino claimed in court on Tuesday that during the evacuation he tried to get passengers into lifeboats in an orderly fashion, but to no avail. He added that he took off his life jacket and gave it to another passenger. He claims he then tripped and fell into a lifeboat, and became stuck when the lifeboat was blocked by other boats in the water.
