Professor Frigon researches wastewater systems and environmental biotechnology with a focus on microbial community dynamics using metagenomics and mathematical modeling. In recent years, he has been developing metagenomics tools for the surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in municipal wastewater. Can wastewater predict where the next COVID outbreak will occur?
