Industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family must have the highest degree Z-plus protection both domestically and abroad, according to a Supreme Court order. On Monday, the Supreme Court issued Z-plus security orders, the highest level of protection, to Mukesh Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, and his family members in India and even abroad. The State of Maharashtra and the Ministry of Home Affairs shall make the highest Z+ Security Cover offered to Respondent Nos. 2 to 6 (Ambanis) available throughout India (MHA). Highest Level Z+ Security Cover, in accordance with Government of India policy, be also supplied, and the Ministry of Home Affairs shall provide this, stated a SC panel of Justices Krishna Murari and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, adding that the respondents (Ambanis) "should bear the whole expenses." The SC bench added that it was of the considered opinion that if there is a security threat, "the security cover provided and that too at own expense of the respondents, cannot be restricted to a particular area or place of stay," after considering the Ambanis' business activities both inside and outside the country.
