In May 2020, I had the enviable opportunity to fish for an extended period at Juvigny & Vraux - 2 of the lakes on the 'Marne Valley Carping' fishery in the Champagne region of France.

With no other anglers visiting the lakes due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions, I had the entire place to myself, and it was agreed with the owner Chris to extend my booked 1 week trip, and take the opportunity to film some drone footage of all 4 lakes on the complex. This video shows that drone & lake footage, but also documents the incredible fishing I enjoyed on two of the lakes while I was there.

In a little over 3 weeks I caught 75 fish, but the real story is that 8 of those fish were over 60lbs!!! (6 x carp all over 65lbs, and 2 x Catfish of 60lbs & 70lbs)!!! An amazing, and likely 'never to be repeated', carp fishing session...!


*Note - this wasn't a 'commercial' trip in any way! I paid for my time fishing, and for the bait I used - all 500kg of it :-0 !!
