"沙茶酱"是流行于潮汕地区的一种酱料,改良自马来西亚和印尼的"沙嗲酱",其潮洲话读音为"沙嗲",与粤语地区所说的"沙爹酱"有同样词源,但在多年发展下,"沙茶酱"与"沙嗲酱"的调制方法已略有不同。"沙茶酱"甜味较轻,较咸,有虾干气味,但"沙嗲酱"略为偏甜,偏辛辣,花生较多,部分亦会按照马来西亚的食谱,加入粗身花生粒。
沙茶酱含有较高的蛋白质,糖以及脂肪,要减肥的朋友注意食用量。
