Army of Film Thieves berlatar enam tahun sebelum Army of the Dead dan mengisahkan masa lalu Ludwig Dieter (Matthias Schweighofer), ahli sekaligus pembobol brankas, sebelum muncul dalam Army of the Dead.

Sebelum menjadi Dieter yang dikenal dalam Army of the Dead, Ludwig merupakan seorang teller bank asal Jerman yang pemalu bernama Sebastian
