Inside Out 2 had a deleted scene that could have added a lot of fun to the movie. Titled "Broken Joy," this scene was supposed to delve deeper into Joy’s character and her life at Headquarters. In the scene, Joy struggles with the console, and feels rejected by Riley, who’s preparing for a pool party. Riley finds a sun-themed swimsuit that Joy loves, but Joy’s light glitches, and the console fails to work properly. Despite Joy’s efforts, Riley doesn’t take the swimsuit at first, but Joy eventually succeeds, and Riley happily wears it. The scene would have shown Joy’s vulnerabilities and her struggles, ending with Joy opening up to Sadness about her issues. Though this scene was cut, it led to a great bedroom set with Easter eggs, providing a glimpse into the emotions’ space and adding to the movie’s fun.
