TOBACCO AND NON-TOBACCO USING AIRMEN PARTICIPATED IN A CHALLENGING WORK OUT TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE GREAT AMERICAN SMOKE OUT, WHICH ENCOURAGES AIRMEN TO QUIT FOR ONE DAY. THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER AT GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE HELD THE COLD TURKEY OBSTACLE COURSE IN ORDER TO PROMOTE A HEALTHIER LIFE STYLE ACROSS THE BASE. THE COURSE CONSISTED OF VARIOUS WORKOUTS AND FACTS ABOUT THE DANGER OF TOBACCO USE. HEALTH PROMOTION COORDINATOR, DENAE GROVE, HOPES THAT THIS EVENT WILL ENCOURAGE USERS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE RESOURCES THE H-A-W-C HAS TO OFFER.

“Once I just got it in my mind and I had my other fellow airmen behind me supporting me. Saying don’t do it, just you know go drink a soda, some water or something like that. Other times came where I wanted to do it again but just kept remembering those words.”
