Boris Johnson has received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as the UK’s rollout of the jab reached a record high.
The prime minister received the jab at St Thomas’ Hospital in London on Friday evening.
He said he the vaccine had been administered by “wonderful” nurse called Lily. He received the jab from Lily Harrington, Clinical Pod Lead at the hospital.
As he left St Thomas’ - where he spent three nights in intensive care battling the disease last year - Mr Johnson said: “I literally did not feel a thing. It was very good, very quick. I cannot recommend it too highly.”
It came after officials announced on Friday that another 660,276 first and second doses have been administered in the latest 24-hour period.
