Closer home, data from the British Retail Consortium indicated that shop prices in the UK dropped at a faster pace in June while Halifax reported that house prices in the UK declined in June. Later today, traders will focus on the minutes of the US Federal Reserve's latest policy meeting for further cues on the direction of US interest rates.
