2 Types of Salespeople: Which salesman are you? (Sales Training)
There are two types of salespeople. Being one or the other will make a difference in your business. You will either be successful in selling or you will barely get by. Ultimately, if you want long-term success and scale your business in whatever industry, you need to understand this.
The two types of salespeople are: (1) Tactical Salespeople; and (2) Strategic Salespeople
The tactical salesmen are one and done. All they focus on is making the sale right now. You see, as a tactical salesperson, you find that customers buy from you ONCE.
Don’t get me wrong. You can make money as a tactical salesperson - sometimes even a lot of money. The problem is, almost all of your sales will happen only once. As a tactical salesperson, you find that customers buy from you ONCE. You will have little to zero repeat orders because people will feel that you treat them as customers instead of clients.
But ultimately, the most successful salespeople in the world are strategic. Meaning they build a relationship. They gather customer data, and they're constantly looking for ways on how they can add more and more and more value to the bottom line of each client.
In my 30 years of experience in running a business, I’ve seen the two types of salespeople in action. At the end of the day, the most successful companies in the world, and the most successful salespeople in the world think strategically.
