Today I found a new sculpture in Vilnius Old Town. What does this sculpture symbolize? This monument depicts the commanders of the 1863-64 uprising, so it was opened to commemorate the 160th anniversary of one of them being sentenced to death. March 22 marks the 160th anniversary of the execution of one of the leaders of this uprising, Konstantinas Kalinauskas. Together with K. Kalinauskas, Zigmantas Sierakauskas, Jokūbas Dalevskis and a Franciscan from this monastery stood on the territory of the Franciscan monastery.
