The Pendolino is a well-known series of Italian high-speed trains. Designed with the ability to tilt into curves, they have been able to improve travel times on conventional lines in the country. They have become workhorses of Italy’s high speed rail system, with the second generation of Pendolino trains still in service. In this trip report, Richard YS takes a ride on one of these classic Pendolino trains between Rome and Pisa, showing off the features on board the train, as well as the scenery out the window along the way.
