I've worked with both Magento and WordPress in eCommerce.
Magento, for me, is a lot more detailed and a lot more advanced than WordPress.
It's specifically designed for bigger eCommerce brands. But, with that, it does come with a much bigger cost.
You're going to need to work with a development agency on it. It's not something that you can do yourself.
There are themes available for Magento, but you will definitely need development support.
So, it depends on the size of your brand and the complexity of your site.
If you're looking for a simple direct-to-consumer eCommerce site with not too much complication, then you can go with things like WordPress or Shopify.
But, if there's more that you want to do with your store and your product is a little bit more advanced, or you're a bigger brand, I would definitely suggest you go with Magento.
