With the high temperatures the Charlotte area saw over the weekend, many people were probably trying to cool off with an ice cold drink. But can a warm drink actually do a better job of lowering your body temperature? So should you switch out ice water for a hot cup of coffee when the temperature hits 90?
In dry, hot weather, it's true that hot drinks can cool you down. However, in very hot, humid weather, where your sweat can't evaporate, drinking a hot liquid will not cool your body down.
