▪ C Reactive Protein test or CRP blood test is used to measure the amount of c-reactive protein in blood which is related to inflammation in the body. A CRP test is sometimes confused with a high-sensitivity hs-CRP test. An hs-CRP test measures much lower levels of C Reactive protein or CRP. It is used to check for risk of heart disease.
▪ CRP is measured in milligrams per liter (mg/L).
Normal: Less than 10 mg/L
High: Equal to or greater than 10 mg/L
▪ hs-CRP Normal Values:
Lower risk of heart disease: hs-CRP level less than 2.0 mg/L
Higher risk of heart disease: hs-CRP level equal to or greater than 2.0 mg/L.
