Above is a link to how the Blue foam looks when you buy it. You can get this at Lowes or Home Depot. Home Depot uses a pink brand but is same thing. This foam comes with a plastic film over it. I chose to remove the film but you don't have to. I removed it for better bond when glueing
Few days ago friend of mine mentioned that it would be cool to have the Jackal Cage from the movie 13 Ghosts. During this time of year I take a break on my RC stuff and like to work on costume props for fun. Halloween is around the corner so thought this would be a great time to post this video.
This is a video I made showing the steps I took to complete it. Hopefully it will be helpful with others making their own Jackal Cage. It was very easy to make and only took some time. Nothing Complex on this one with measuring.
Pretty much cut out a bunch of 1" strips and a bunch of small circles. Or the circles could be painted on also if you don't feel like cutting them out. It is measured 14" tall by 10 1/2" wide. Then glued together using Elmers Craft Bond Rubber Cement. A glue gun or white Elmers glue could be used also. Just careful on the heat with glue gun.
Key to using the rubber cement is to apply glue to both parts going together. Let air dry or simply blow it dry till it hazes over. Then join the two parts together and it will bond right away.
Use Testors model paint as described in video. Make sure it states styrofoam safe. Many different methods can be used to paint with. This is just how I always do my projects.
So now its complete for Halloween and only took 2 days to make. I could have done it in few hours but I was watching tv at the same time so I was side tracked a good bit. Anyways hopes this is helpful!
Thanks for watching!!
