Video advertising is a great way to grow your business. But how do you do it? Let’s break down 4 easy steps you can follow to take advantage of building winning video advertising campaigns.
Step 1- Decide what products or services you want to sell more of. Start with the best one and create a video that adds value to consumers around that topic while also building trust in your product or service.
For example, we do marketing for all kinds of businesses, local businesses, eCommerce stores and more. But one industry we do really well with are roofers. With their high average sale price, they tend to do very well with our marketing services. So it would make sense for us to attack more of those customers. Therefore, it would be a good idea for me to create a video specifically for roofers about roofer marketing and how to do it properly to grow your business. The video should add value whether they go with us or not. In the video, I’d really break down how it works and how to do it. Probably a 10 minute value-add video. During the video I’d make comments on how we provide those services here and there but nothing pushy. Then, at the end, I’d provide some sort of a call to action to request a free 1 hour consultation or something like that.
Do you see how this would be a great marketing tool! So what kind of products or services do you have where you can create a video like this?
Step 2 - Once the video is done, decide where do you want to promote it!
Google keywords that lead to a landing page with it, Facebook & Instagram and who you’re targeting. YouTube keywords to rank the video for, LinkedIn and who you’re targeting, etc.. For the roofer example, we’d want to show the video when people search “roofer marketing” or “roofer advertising”, etc.. We’d then want to retarget those visitors on Facebook and Instagram with the video. We’d also want to target owners of roofing companies on LinkedIn and show them that video!
Think about your video, where you’d want it to be seen and by whom.
Step 3 - Decide on a budget, how much do you want to invest in those ads and how do you plan to track the ROI.
Make sure you have a CRM to track the leads and revenue so you understand the true ROI. This allows you to invest more in what’s working!

Step 4 - Set up email marketing automation to continue to nurture and add value to those segmented leads and contacts.
Great additional videos and content around the specific product or service. This is a great way to get more sales, referrals and reviews!
