"Be Right Back" is the sound of Fish On Mars in quarantine & distancing times, but it's also the very possible soundtrack to these quarantined, distanced, seemingly endless times for all of us.
"Be Right Back" is a promise and a wish, expressed through troubled, longing, spaced out sounds recorded remotely, separated, while indeed wishing to be right back on a stage with an audience, in a proper recording studio, in a rehearsal room with friends.
But "Be Right Back" is also a sonic commentary and perhaps a warning, as very aptly metaphorically expressed by the animation video, of how we seem to explore space and other planets while arming up against enemies from other worlds we imagine attacking our own, forgetting that our worst enemy, systematically destroying our planet on a daily basis, is us, and our machinery - perhaps not alien, but certainly alienated from this truth.
