The extra boot locking control that almost no one knows about.
This episode was inspired by subscriber Peter Strachan. He owns both a Jaguar XK8 and an XKR.
Although you need to disassemble various parts of your trim to get to it. There is a very deliberate button to prevent boot / trunk opening without the use of a key in the secret key hole.

Although with the aid of this video we will all understand its function, Does ANYBODY understand why it would have been specified?

The only other possibility that has occurred to me since publishing the video has been that maybe the Jag was sold in a particular territory that had legislation preventing the use of remote control boot / trunk releases.
I do not know of such a place or why that would be a good idea, but what do I know🤔
