Chinese Nationals Prisoned in Zambia for Cybercrimes | Firstpost Africa | Subscribe to Firstpost
Twenty-two Chinese nationals have been handed long prison terms in Zambia for their involvement in Cybercrimes. Internet fraud and online scams have targeted several Zambians and also people in Singapore, Peru, and the United Arab Emirates. The Zambian authorities busted the crime network with a raid on a Chinese firm in the capital Lusaka. A Zambian court has now sentenced Chinese citizens to jail terms ranging from 7-11 years. The convicted individuals are part of a bigger group of 77 suspects who were arrested in April.
