Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds wreaked havoc in Pakistan's commercial capital and biggest city Karachi, Friday, July 17, with flooding of major avenues and roads, leaving commuters stranded.
Trees were uprooted along with electric poles, leading to damage of nearby vehicles and electricity disruptions in multiple areas of the city.
Broken down vehicles were a common sight on most avenues, with people stuck on the road or at their offices.
Floodwater also accumulated on various parts of the Shara-e-Faisal, the main artery that runs through the city of more than 20 million people.
