Always make sure your battery is good first. Then you can check the function of the remote by looking at the remote sensor light through a camcorder lens. The naked eye does not see the light. Press any button to see that IF light is working or not

If you wish to have a closer look at the internal parts, then peel off the top of the remote. You will need to clean the glue off and re-glue the top part for re-assembly, but makes sure you don't put any glue on the contact areas.

Now, by removing the 5 small Philip screws on the circuit board, you can have a look at the other side of the circuit board and the components.
