On May 1, 2024, The Wilderness Battlefield and Minute Man National Historical Park were named on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places list. History preservation leaders from across the United States got together for a press conference on The Wilderness Battlefield to announce the threat.
