Simon Mills, one of the Bodleian Libraries' Visiting Fellows in 2021, looks back at the intellectual journey of Jean Gagnier, an eighteenth-century Professor of Arabic whose scholarship drew upon the Bodleian Library’s important collections of Arabic manuscripts. Dr Mills, Lecturer in Early Modern History at Newcastle University, stayed in Oxford as the David Walker Memorial Visiting Fellow.
Research visits and academic engagement by Bodleian Visiting Fellows are supported at the Weston Library for Special Collections.
