The Phoenix P1 is the most-entry-level camera available. Thrity or forty years earlier, it would have been an upper-end camera. However, released in the early 2000s using the Cosina C1 chassis, the P1 is an entry-level-grade camera. That said, it can still take great photos and the Pentax K mount it uses gives photographers access to more lenses than any other mount. The P1 is light, easily used, comfortable to hold, and generally inexpensive enough to be a good first or a good travel camera. Fully manual like many of the classic cameras used in photography classes, this is an ideal student and learner camera.
