A must-visit Summer destination for your Hungary Travels is Lake Balaton! In this video we show you the Káli Medence area in Hungary, a wonderful region to visit if you like hiking, nature and cute villages!
On our last day of our 3 day long trip we'll be exploring the Káli Medence, to which I refer to as Káli Valley, but the correct term is the less exciting sounding Káli Basin. It's a region on the northern side of Lake Balaton in close proximity to Badacsony. It's full of interesting geography like the Hegyestű which is the remnant of a dead volcano, or the Sea of Stones which is an area that would work very well as a distant planet in sci-fi movies.
This video chronicles our 3rd day in the region, if you are interested in how the previous days went then check out the below:
Day 1 - Hiking the Badacsony Mountain and enjoying nice local wine

Day 2 - Exploring Szigliget Castle ruins and Hiking a Nearby mountain:

The plan is to visit the Hegyestű first, we can translate the name as Sharp Needle and you can kinda understand where the name comes from once you see it. It's a unique and interesting object that also gives some nice and scenic views of the lake and the Káli medence as well.

Then we visit a mysterious Art installation in the middle of the valley called Emberi Komédia (Human Comedy). It is also known as the Hungarian Stone Henge.

After that we explore one of the most hip towns in the area: Köveskál. Although it has a relatively small population, it is very popular with tourists as it has a ton of culinary options to choose from and is ideal to start your hikes from here then return to rest in one of its many inns.

We then explore the Kőtenger (Sea of Stones or Sea of Rocks). A place that shows that this area used to be Under water millions of years ago. Its like walking on a different Planet! The rockformations act like a Playground for both adults and children.

Finally, we refresh with some free mineral water straight from the spring at the Theodora spring where you can get the taste of fresh mineral water from the ground.
